Do take your time along the stretch from Butterworth through Kentani and down to us – cows and goats seem to love the roads! This road is untarred and the road does often have potholes. We suggest that you avoid travelling at night.

FROM DURBAN

Take the N2 south from Umtata to Butterworth. At the first set of robots, at the Caltex Garage, turn left towards Kentani. Follow the tar road for 30 kilometres and, just before Kentani, take the left turn signposted Wavecrest 35km. It’s a gravel road all the way to the resort.

From East London take the N2 north and pass through Butterworth. At the last set of robots outside the town, turn right at the Caltex garage to Kentani. Follow the tar road for 30 kilometres and, just before Kentani, take the left turn signposted Wavecrest 35km. It’s a gravel road all the way to the coast.

FROM JOHANNESBURG
- +/- 11 HOURS
Drive N1 south to Bloemfontein, take the N6 and follow signs to Aliwal North, Queenstown, Cathcart and Stutterheim to Kei Road where you turn onto the tarred M63 to Komga. Don’t take the first turning to Kei Road (a dirt road) and make sure you take the R63 which is the second turning.
The R63 joins the N2 which takes you north to Butterworth.
At the last set of robots outside the town, turn right at the Caltex garage to Kentani. Follow the tar road for 30 kilometres and, just before Kentani, take the left turn signposted Wavecrest 35km. It’s a gravel road all the way to the coast.

Take the N2 to Grahamstown and King William’s Town and take the R63 through Bisho to Kei Road and follow the signs through Komga until you reach the N2. Follow the N2 until you pass through Butterworth.
